Hope Town has an active fire department and many of the volunteers are skilled in CPR and First Aid.  If you have an emergency and don't know what to do, call  Tommy on the VHF radio.  If you can't reach him, ask for general help on the radio.  Someone will be able to help you.

In Hope Town there is a Government Clinic with specific hours; there is a large Government Clinic in Marsh Harbour, as well as private doctors.  There is also a pharmacy that can fill U.S. prescriptions.  Over the counter drugs are available in grocery and drug stores.  Be sure, though, to bring  prescriptions you need.

For serious accidents and illnesses there  are  charter planes to West Palm Beach, or an air ambulance from Miami can be called.  This is very expensive, so be sure you have an emergency.  Also, bring your insurance cards.
